Vice Admiral Silvio Javier Alva Villamón

He was born on November 11, 1962 in Lima. He went to Inmaculada High School. He joined the Peruvian Naval Academy on February 26, 1980, and then he received a scholarship to the Argentine Naval Military Academy, graduating as Ensign on January 1, 1985.

He is a specialist in Surface Warfare and Weapons Engineering. Graduated in the following programs: Basic Staff, Command and Staff, Special Joint Staff and Inter-American Defense College in the United States. He has a Master's Degree in Security and Defense from the University of El Salvador in Argentina. He is been on board Peruvian Navy ships like B.A.P. Carvajal, B.A.P. Villavisencio, B.A.P. Herrera and B.A.P.  Mariátegui. He was Executive Commander of B.A.P. Velarde, Commanding Officer on B.A.P. Sánchez Carrión and B.A.P. Bolognesi, Commander of the Surface Flotilla No. 1. During his tenure ashore, he has served as Chief of Armament of the Command of the Surface Force, Head of the Training Department at the Naval Tactical Training Center, Official Secretary of the Navy General Staff, Assistant Officer of the Navy General Commander, Peruvian President Aide, Chief of the Operations, Plans and Policy Division of the Navy General Staff, Chief of the Doctrine Department of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces, Sub-Secretary of the Secretary of the Navy General Command, and Commander of the Paita Naval Station.

In 2012, the Government confered him the rank of Rear Admiral and served as Director of Naval Enlistment. At the end of December he is designated as Deputy and Naval Defense Attaché to the Embassy of Peru in France and Concurrent in the Netherlands and Belgium. In 2015, he was appointed Executive Director of the General Directorate of the Navy Material and later became General Director of Material. In 2016 he assumed the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Marine Industrial Services SIMA-PERU S.A. In 2017 the government confered him the rank of Vice Admiral and assumes the position of Director General of the Navy Personnel On January 1, 2018, he assumed the position of General Operational Commander for the Amazon Region and the Fifth Naval Zone.
