Rear Admiral Gonzalo Javier Carrera Mazuelos

He was born on August 10, 1968. He entered the Navy on February 26, 1986, graduating on January 1, 1991 as Ensign of Frigate.

He is qualified in Naval Engineering, and Surface Warfare. He has followed the courses of Intelligence by Correspondence, Basic Staff, Command and Staff, Naval Teacher, and High Command Program. He has an International Masters in Military Naval Engineering.

During his service on board, he was an Anti-submarine War Officer at BAP Mariátegui, Head of the Electricity and Automation Division, Engineering Division and Auxiliary Division at BAP Mariátegui, Head of the Engineering Department at BAP Almirante Grau, Second Commander of BAP Bolognesi, Commander of BAP Mollendo, and Commander of BAP Palacios.

He has been Head of the Department of Naval Training in the Naval School of Peru, Assistant Officer in the General Command of Naval Areas, Assistant Officer in the General Staff of the Navy, Project Manager in the Industrial Services of the Navy - Callao, Chief of the Discipline Division in the Naval School of Peru, Chief of the 4th. Section of the General Staff in the Commander of the Fourth Naval Zone, Head of the Projects Department in the Directorate of Naval Enlistment, Head of the Programming and Budget Department in the General Staff of the Navy, Deputy Attaché and Naval Attaché to the Embassy of Peru in the Federative Republic of Brazil, Internal Inspector in the General Directorate of Economy of the Navy, and Director of the Higher Institute of Naval Public Technological Education - CITEN.

In 2019, the government granted him the promotion to the rank of Rear Admiral and appointed him as Director of Naval Enlistment.
