Rear Admiral Gerardo Miguel Gervasi Valdez

He was born on April 10, 1964, in Lima. He joined the Peruvian Naval Academy on March 1, 1982, graduating as Ensign on January 1, 1987.

He is a specialist Naval Infantry. Graduated in the following programs: Basic Intelligence, Basic Staff , Command and Staff , Joint Operations, Advanced Course Psychological Operations (EP) Orientation Course and Head of Platoon at Camp Lejeune (US MARINES) course Vessel Inspection and Recognition, Development course National Security and Defence (CAEN), Strategic Management course for Defense and Crisis Management.

He holds a Masters in Development and National Defense (CAEN), Master of Business Administration (UIGV) Business Management Program (CENTRUM), Course Teaching Methodology (PUCP) and Integrated Communications Course (Ulima).

He is been on board Peruvian Navy ships like BAP "Quinones". He has been Head of the Department of Naval Reserves and Mobilization, Chief of Platoon Battalion of Naval Infantry No. 1, Chief of Platoon Weapons Battalion Light Combat No. 1, Official Secretary of the Command Force of Naval Infantry, Head of Naval Infantry Detachment "El Salto-Tumbes", Head of the Company "C" Light Naval Infantry Battalion No. 6, Head of Company "A" Naval Infantry Battalion No. 2 , Executive Commander of the Naval Infantry Battalion No. 2, Head of Institutional Image of the Navy Information Division, Commander Amphibious Vehicles Battalion, Commander of the Grouping Combat Support,

On January 1, 2014, he is appointed Commander of the Fourth Naval Zone and Task Force 100, Chief of the Captaincy and Coastguard District No. 4 and Commander of the Ucayali Special Command. In 2015, he served as Commander of the Marine Infantry Force, Sub-Inspector General of the Navy and Naval Attaché to the Embassy of Peru in the French Republic.

On February 1, 2019, he is appointed General Director of Education of the Navy.
